About Us

Formed in 1938 just before the outbreak of World War II, 10th Mansfield Scouts have been providing opportunities for young people in Mansfield for 83 years. Initially based at St. Augustine’s church, the group moved to the Methodist church on Chesterfield Road in 2019, before moving to our new home at Landmark Centre, Pleasley in 2022.

In 2023 the group celebrated their 85-year anniversary.Coming back from the COVID pandemic was difficult for all scouting groups and 10th Mansfield were no different with our numbers dropping dramatically follwoing the return to face to face scouting. However through the hard work and dedication of our leaders and adult volunteers, we have now over 80 young members and over 20 adult supporters.

In 2024 we opened our first ever Squirrels Drey, for 4-6 year olds. At the same time we opened up a second Beaver section operating on Monday nights. We now have over 100 young members at the group!!

We pride ourselves on being a fully inclusive group and everyone is welcome. All genders, races and backgrounds. Regardless of your child’s physical ability, there is a scout adventure waiting for them, and at 10th Mansfield our core team of volunteers will help them find it.
